Sports Teams Continue Entering Into Gaming Sponsorship Deals
Online gambling operator 888 strikes a sponsorship deal with NFL’s New York Jets, while Unibet and New Jersey Devils agree on multi-year partnership.
On Monday, 888casino NJ announced it had become the official sponsor of the NFL’s New York Jets. This news comes after the announcement of a sponsorship agreement between 888casino’s parent company 888 Holdings PLC and the NY Jets during the 2018/2019 NFL season.
As an official sponsor of the NY Jets, 888casino New Jersey will promote the NY Jets on its online casino site. The online gambling operator will also have promotional material featured at the MetLife Stadium, in the ‘red zone’ highlights, and on pylons outside the stadium. 888casino will also be able to use NY Jets logos and branding in different types of marketing materials, for game day radio coverage, advertisements, and across NY Jets online platforms as part of the sponsorship deal.
In a press release, Yaniv Sherman, Head of Group Commercial Development at 888 said: “We couldn’t be happier with this deal. Partnering up with the New York Jets is a dream come true for us. 888 is not the only online gambling company with sponsorship deal with an NFL team.
Several NFL teams have also inked partnerships with other gambling companies. In September 2018, the Dallas Cowboys announced a partnership with WinStar World Casino and Resort. With this announcement, the Dallas Cowboys became the first-ever NFL team to enter a sponsorship agreement with a gambling company. In October 2018, the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens are also partnered with the Caesars owned Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore.
Unibet and New Jersey Devils Agree on Multi-Year Partnership
At the same time, Unibet, one of the newest gaming operators in New Jersey, and the New Jersey Devils have entered into a multi-year partnership. Under the agreement, Unibet will amplify their in-arena and digital promotion with the team plus the gaming company will receive numerous accommodations for their customers.
The partnership marks Unibet’s first arrangement with a professional team in the United States. The company has a long history of partnerships with sports teams across the globe including Liverpool F.C. in England and Paris Saint-German F.C. in France. One of the more exciting stipulations of the agreement for the gaming company is that Hall of Famer Martin Brodeur, the all-time leader in wins for an NHL goalie, will work as Unibet’s Brand Ambassador.
